Curvy Street    |    2/12/2006

Marta tells me this reminds her of a street in Portugal. I honestly don't know where the idea came from, so maybe it IS from Portugal. We WERE recently there...

Wedding Invitation    |    1/19/2006

This is a drawing I did to be used as the artwork on the front of our wedding invitations. My wonderful fiancée Marta asked me to do a drawing for the invitations. This has had a wonderful, positive effect (Marta always does). After years of essentially not drawing Marta’s request got me back to it and reminded me how much I enjoy it. This is what has reintroduced art to my life.

Drawings

Art On a Chair

Balance!

A Very Tense Moment

I think a situation like this would just ruin my day.

A Hanging

I think of all the ways to go my least favorite would be to be hung. In this sketch I try to capture some of my feelings about this particularly nasty way to die.

Stabbed In The Back

And that's the least of his problems.

Nightmare's Window

This one can be a bit disturbing. I have mixed feelings about this one because I used PhotoShop to invert the colors after drawing it.

A Floating Yellow Dream

This one is pencil, pen, color pencil, and pastels. It was fun to draw!

Geep and Wizz Page 1

This is the first page of a very silly "comic book" which I did back in high school.

Geep and Wizz Page 2

This is the second page of a very silly "comic book" which I did back in high school.

Reaching For Something Nice

Aren't we all?

Joe

I have no idea so don't ask...

The Killing Machine sign sketch

A design sketch for "The Killing Machine"

Maze

I sketched this some time ago while I was bored. Let me know if you can get through it! I wish I had the money to offer a prize.

One Armed Diver

The title says most of it. What if the kelp couldn't be cut?

People Fall

Nothing more than a little role reversal...

Run Have Fun

Believe it or not me and my friends used to spend a lot of time running around in storm drains and any underground places we could find. We were odd kids.

They Call Me Sorcerer

I've always wanted so much to believe in magic. When I say this I mean the corny "witches and wizards" magic depicted in classic fantasy.

The Dromotrop - Page 1

This is the first page of a comic book which I started, but never got very far in.

The Dromotrop - Page 2

This is the second page of a comic book which I started, but never got very far in.

A Map For The Book "Maze"

The books full title is "Maze : Solve the World's Most Challenging Puzzle". It is by Christopher Manson who is also the author of a book titled "The Rails I Tote : Forty-Five Illustrated Spoonerisms to Decipher". These two titles are by far my favorite puzzle books of all time. The illustrations are gorgeous and the content is challenging, thought provoking, and original. To bad they are both out of print.

Mom's CD Cover

My Mom recently put another album together and, once again, asked me to help with the cover art. I had a lot of fun working on it. Thanks Mom! Technically this doesn't belong under 2D computer graphics, but I did take hundreds of digital photos and put in some time in PhotoShop, so close enough... See "Mom's Album Cover" for the first go-round.

Book and Candle

This is an image I created on my PowerMac 8500. It was once used for the CDC library web page.

The Bulletin Board

I just did this one for fun.

Doors

This is a detail from "The Bulletin Board".

The Killing Machine

This one took quite some time. Me and a friend of mine used to sketch machines like this all the time. We called them "walkers" back then. One day I felt like modeling one and putting it somewhere other than a white void.

Mad

This is the very first image I modeled and rendered using my new (at the time) PowerMac 8500. Strata StudioPro rendered it in under a minute! I know it's small, but still...

Potted Plant

This is the very first image I modeled and rendered using Macintosh hardware and software. It's not much, but It's my first...

Sink

Here's another one from me and my PowerMac.

Spice Rack Detail

This is a detail from an animation I once worked on. I never finished the animation.

Todd's Utah Teapot

There are much better versions of the famous teapot, but this is the best one which was created using only software which I wrote.

Paintings

The Great Midwest

I hate this painting, but I had to flush out the "Paintings" section of this web page and I don't do that much painting.

A Portal In The Woods

This oil painting was inspired by the bottom half of the second page of "The Dromotrop" (see above under Drawings). Of the few paintings I’ve done it’s my favorite.

Illuminated Dental Hygiene

This is a dirt encrusted homage to the toothbrush. No deep message, I just droped it in the driveway...

Sketch Book Pages and Miscellaneous

Mom's Album Cover

Back in high school my mom let me illustrate the cover of an album which she was creating with a friend of her's.

Animations

The Spider's Home

I did this 6.5 MB 3D computer graphics animation a long time ago. Thus far it is my one and only foray into animation.
